OUR MISSION

 

To develop studentts at Martin Luther King High School into leaders who will use their technology skills to enhance personal learning to ensure that they make a positive congr]

STANDARDS 

 

1. All students be active participates

2. All students maintain grades of C and above

3. All students maintain behavior consistent with the policies of the Deklab County School District Student Policies and proceedures

4. All students are honest

5. Al students are supportive of the media center

6. All students are leaders both in the media center and the school 

7. All students are trustworthy 

8. All students are demonstrate reading/research skills

State Certification

 

The Martin Luther King High School Chapter of the Georgia Associaion of Media Assistants is recognized as an active member of the state organization and is in good standing.  Validity of this status be verified by the State Director -Dr. Gordon Baker at (678) 466-4325

Media Certification 

 

The GAMA Club exist with the permission of the principal of the school and the support of the media specialist. A certified media specialist is required for the operation of the GAMA Club and is responsible for the adherence to state mandates. The school district also supports the existence of the organization as it support student learning and achievement.

Gama Club Services

 

Students who serve in the Martin Luther King High School chapter of the Georgia Associarion of Media Assistants work to serve:

A. Sanctioned School Events and Activities at Martin Luther King High School approved by the principal.

B. Dekalb County School District Events such as Sporting Evvents, Community Activities and other activities approved by the Board of Education and the Superintendent

C. Georgia Association of Media Assistants State Certified Events

D. Daily Operation of the Martin Luther King High School Media Center under the direction of the Mediia Specialist 

Club Member Rights 

 

All students are afforded the following rights as legal members:

1. The ability to serve student peers with book checkouts 

2. The bility to serve student peers with basic research for student projects

3. Free printing for personal member projects 

4. Ability to participate in club sanctioned events 

5. Right to serve in any elected officer position

6. Right to wear or display appropriate GAMA paraphenalia 

WHAT IS NOT SANCTIONED 

1. NO MEMBER  SHALL VIOLATE ANY PART OF THE DEKALB COUNTY SCHOOL  REGULATION

2. NO MEMBER SHALL RECIEVE OR TRANSACT MONETARY FUNDS FROM ANYONE 

3. NO MEMBER SHALL VIOLATE ANY SCHOOL POLICY OF MARTIN LUTHER KING HIGH SCHOOL
